We started today’s Fun Friday by going bowling.  Does that count as physical education?  We always use bumpers, as much for me as for the kids.  Actually, Cool Guy would definitely destroy me if there weren’t bumpers.  Now that bowling has gone high tech, you can’t say that much addition goes on, but then again, Cool Guy was figuring out his pins knocked down by addition.

Back at home, we did a vocabulary quiz, which was a wash.  The words were too hard.  I’ll look online and see if I can find a better site.  If not, I’ll try and make something up to have ready, maybe a vocabulary jar.  If I find something good, I’ll put it up here.

Next, we drew astronomy again, so I got out an old outer space sticker book, and the boys really enjoyed completing that.  I bought that thing back when they were about 4 and 6, and now that they are almost 9 and 11, I think they are about age appropriate for it.  Lesson learned: don’t throw anything out!  (Don’t listen to me.)

Last, we drew current events, so we looked at this really cool site.  Looking at top photos around the world is pretty fun.  It always seems like we should be able to do more than 4 or 5 things on Fun Fridays, but I guess the point (or one of the points) is to s-l-o-w-d-o-w-n and enjoy getting lost in something neat or fun.  The sticker book and bowling both took quite awhile, and that’s OK.
